Mark Davison Mark is an excellent prospect at centre forward. He has joined us from from Ryhope CW. He has pro experience as a youngster and is excellent in the air. Liam Gill Signed from Seaham Red Star, Liam has been a regular forward with the SRCA Under-21 side. He is quick and has an eye for goal. Steve Halliday A midfield player signed from Seaham Red Star, Steve has a good range of passing and a massive engine that means he covers every blade of grass. Wayne Henderson Wayne returned in 2007/08 after a season out with a serious injury, and was voted Fan's Player of Season. A great lad, he can play anywhere across the back, in midfield or up top where he was previously the club's top scorer. Wayne is a quality player who reads the game well. Gary Hoggeth Highly rated in Northern League circles, Gary is a keeper who has signed from Jarrow Roofing, where he played for many years. Anth Holmes Returning to RCA from Seaham Red Star, Anth is a centre forward with plenty of pace and is a previous top scorer for the club. Andrew Jennings You won't miss this feller! As big and as powerful in the air as they come, Andy is a real boost to our fire power at centre forward. Coming to us in 2007/08 from first division Seaham Red Star, which speaks volumes for the ambition here at RCA, Andy finished top scorer 21 goals for RCA. Steve Jones Steve, who has signed from Ryton, is a very experienced, reliable defender who can cover a number of positions. Sean Joseph Sean - Taz - Joseph signed for Sunderland RCA from Northallerton FC in January this year, coming on as a substitute in the 1 - 0 win against Prudhoe and starting in the following 3 - 1 away win against Esh Winning. A tricky and fast left winger, Taz is now back on the team sheet following injury, scoring his first goal for RCA in the 4 - 2 win against Darlington RA. Anthony Laidler Comfortable right across the back or in midfield, Anth is known for not minding a tackle, and has a great engine and desire. A winner in all respects and loyal to RCA, Anth has previously captained Seaham and played for Blyth. David Lee Signed from Ryton, David is a left-sided player who can play at full back or as a winger and brings very good experience to the club. Glen McCartney Appointed Assistant Manager in preparation for the 2008/09 season, Glenn signed for RCA in the summer of 2007. Known for his dependability, passing and quick thinking at centre half. Adam McGuinness Adam is a strong left sided midfielder, quick, direct, strong and good in the air, always dangerous from set pieces. He joined the club from Sunday football and is already starting to make his mark on the side. Works for sponsors Gentoo, so useful off the field as well! Mark McLeod Mark is a quality young midfielder who was with Darlington. A great passer of the ball. Jon Minniss John is a big lad, calm and careful with good hands, he looks the part between the sticks and he will push Craig all the way for the number one jersey. Glenn Moan Glenn is and experienced defender, who was player and assistant manager at Horden in 2007/08. Calm, organised and stylish, he's a great addition to the Sunderland RCA squad. Andy Reay Strong, quick and experienced central defender who has signed from Sunderland Nissan. An excellent addition to our defensive resources. Scott Richards Scott is a very experienced Northern League midfielder, who combines skill, drive and determination. He had previously captained Bishop Auckland for several seasons and is in his second spell with Sunderland RCA. Gary Shields Gary is a Sunderland East End lad who has a wealth of Northern League experience, having spent over 10 years with Chester-le-Street FC. Scored 16 goals for RCA last season and a great, committed team player. Steven Stewart Signed from Chester-le-Street, Steve plays on either wing. He brings good Northern League experience and is both fast and creative. Paul - Delta - Wardle Returning to RCA from Chester-le-Street, Delta was a key figure in last year's campaign and will help us for the 2008/09 run in. Chris Youlden Chris is a forward or midfielder who has graduated from the Sunderland RCA Under 18s - a player with a bright future.
