RCA have home ties in all their first matches in the coming season's FA Competitions.

Sunderland RCA are delighted to announce that Rob Jones, in recent years secretary of Sunderland Nissan and also of course a former RCA Secretary, is coming back to RCA as First Team Secretary.

After two seasons of consecutive fourth place finishes, Sunderland RCA are ready this season for an all out effort to gain promotion from the Second Division of the skilltrainingNorthern League.

Last night saw the annual Alan Thompson Memorial Cup match between Ryhope CW and Sunderland RCA, which ended with a 2 - 0 win to the Colliery Welfare.

The under 18s have reached the final of the Durham FA pre season tournament, and face Leam Rangers on Thursday night at the Riverside in Chester le Street, with a 6.30 kick off.

Our recent match against Hebburn was RCA's 1,000th league game and League Chairman Mike Amos was on hand to make a presentation.

A peak period in 2009 at Sunderland RCA Football Club as the first team stands at the top of Northern League Division 2 with the best ever start to a football season. Whatever happens in the future and there will be hard times and troughs again, proud memories for Sunderland RCA officials will always be retained like last night at Eppleton C.W.

Sunderland RCA FC were delighted to do our bit for the City of Sunderland, honoured by a visit from our adopted ship HMS Ocean for four days last weekend, by hosting a game between the HMS Ocean Football Club and Northumbria Police at Meadow Park on Sunday afternoon.

Sunderland RCA Barnes, the club's Sunday team, entertain Lobster FC from Liverpool at Meadow Park, Ryhope, in the FA Carlsberg Sunday Cup this Sunday, 18 October at two o'clock.

The FA's national competition for Sunday teams is a great opportunity for the Sunday footballers to get some publicity and profile for their part of the game, with the prospect of a final played at Anfield just a few games away!
