Sunderland RCA are pleased to announce that David Steele has joined the committee at the club. David is former chairman and treasurer at Silksworth Colliery Welfare. Welcome to RCA, David.

RCA are also looking for volunteers to help out, particularly on matchdays.

Morpeth Town match abandoned

Tonight's Northern League match between Sunderland RCA and Morpeth Town was abandoned seven minutes into the second half by the referee due to poor visibility.

Morpeth had gone in at the break with a 2-0 lead after former RCA player Mark Davison had given the visitors the lead in the 16th minute, finishing off a cross from the right from another former RCA player Joe Walton.

Travel to Scarborough

Admission to the match is £10 for adults, £5 for concessions and £1 for under 11s.

Please get there if you can and support the lads in our biggest match of the season so far.

Emirates FA Cup Second Qualifying Round preview

This Saturday, 16 September, Sunderland RCA are back in Emirates FA Cup action with a Second Qualifying Round trip to Scarborough Athletic.

Although Scarborough Athletic have only existed for just over ten years, the club was formed from the dissolved Scarborough FC, which has a long history dating back as far as 1879, and includes being a Football League side in the late 1980s and most of the 1990s.

This post provides the latest update on club organised travel to Scarborough for the FA Cup Second Qualifying tie next Saturday, 16 September.

Numbers allowing, the plan is to run two coaches leaving Meadow Park at 10:00am. The players' coach will not leave Scarborough until around 10:00pm and will return to Ryhope in the early hours of Sunday morning. The other coach will leave Scarborough at 6:00pm, stop for a short refreshment break on route, and arrive in Ryhope around 9:30 / 10:00pm.

Emirates FA Cup First Qualifying Round draw

Sunderland RCA have drawn Liversedge at home in the Emirates FA Cup First Qualifying Round.

The match will be played at Meadow Park on Saturday, 2 September, with a 3.00pm kick-off.

Liversedge play their football in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division and join a growing list of clubs that RCA have faced in FA Vase and FA Cup matches in recent seasons from the same division.

Emirates FA Cup Preliminary Round preview

This Saturday, 19 August, Sunderland RCA take on Ashington in the Emirates FA Cup Preliminary Round. As regular Northern League Division One opponents, of course, RCA and Ashington need no introduction to one another.

New training kit sponsor

Sunderland RCA are pleased to announce another sponsorship agreement -  this one is with Pizza Uno, Sunderland to sponsor RCA's new training kit.

The lads were given their new kit for the warm-up prior Saturday's home match with Washington.

It's great to see an increasing number of local firms supporting RCA.
