Tonight's Northern League match between Sunderland RCA and Morpeth Town was abandoned seven minutes into the second half by the referee due to poor visibility.
Morpeth had gone in at the break with a 2-0 lead after former RCA player Mark Davison had given the visitors the lead in the 16th minute, finishing off a cross from the right from another former RCA player Joe Walton.
Morpeth doubled their lead six minutes before half-time when Walton latched onto a low corner to finish at the front post.
Seven minutes into the second half, the referee and linesman got together and the match was halted, with the referee stating he would look to see if conditions would improve after 20 minutes - 20 minutes later, and after a further inspection of the visibility, the referee abandoned the match, which will now have to be replayed at a later date.
