Forums:
Well first and foremost lets hope we get good news on Alf Gibbons who took a bad turn at our game yesterday. The old fella has been a RCA supporter since well before me and has enjoyed recent seasons. Great response from the Emergency Services who were there very prompt as well. Update all soon.
All confusing with a Whitley Bay player being stretchered off at the same time. In fact carrying him round to the changing room..he was worried about spending christmas in a Sunderland hospital. All confused.com....yes I cetainly was. Confused opening the new modern stretcher as well. Whats wrong with the old deck chair one we used to use...lot quicker as well !
Anyway in the brief glimpses of the game I caught yesterday proud of honest efforts of our lads. Luck was on our side today and the Bay lads will be very puzzled how they went home empty handed.
I did catch our second goal slotted home by Robbo one of the clubs former U18 youth players. Good blend of home grown now local lads all better than their Dads by the way as well. Gregg centre half but even a better forward than his Da...Tadger ! RCA good times in deed and a day out at Mansfield in the new year. Could not be better.
Well it could be.... the RCA players are doing their bit...even folding their strips and helping us tidy at the end of matches. DIFFERENT breed these boys...top dollar. But they deserve more Home attendance support. Thats where local friends and families need a nudge to get to Meadow Park. Ross P brings a mini bus full....gr8 stuff.....but ...Where are we !
Lets spread the word for the Boxing Day Ryhope Derby..might be free DELIA mince pies. Sweet mince by the way....dont panic Defty.
Anyway enough Beef..lets enjoy the Season..at the moment we are still on the wembley trail. History last year in making last 16....ALL THE BEST......and watch this space.
More Beef.
More Beef.
Can i just add lads...Did u know there is no direct Bus from Board Inn to Ryhope. No car yesterday so had to walk down. Whats gannin on. Would not ever have moved from Ryhope if this was the case . Bring the ponies back. No wonder Meadow Park crowds are small.
Into Go North East tomorrow...watch this space Ryhope City needs a Metro link. Vote Ozo in the next election. The Pumping Station...thats a great destination. It will be the Meadow Park drop off....
No toilet humour....please
By bus, one change
35A to Silky then the 2 or 2A, walk from top of Black Road.
Cheers El Queso....good
Cheers El Queso....good advice if on Bus boxing day. Hope santa is kind and something is left in the garage.
Alf Gibbons
I regret to inform the forum that Alf Gibbons passed away in the hospital the same night as he was taken ill. I met his son and widow in Asda today and they gave me the sad news. The son has not felt able to attend a match since but send his regards along with the family's thanks for all the help given to his father. Apparently, Alf suffered a stroke which was too much for him to recover from.
