Woe, woe and thrice woe! Beware the humps and bumps of Whickham as my old grandad used to say. I knew it was going to be a bad day when the lounge bar came to life as that fine upstanding late night fisticuffs maestro Carroll, maintaining a tradition built up over very many glorious years of players' adventures in the hot spots of Newcastle, nodded the Mags an undeserved equaliser while doing his day job. Before that the clubhouse at the Glebe was like a burial ground, or so I am lead to believe. But one defeat does not make you a bad side; oh no indeed, lots of other things do that...
So, continuing to look on the bright side, will big AJ come back to haunt us? Scoring for fun in a side which has won eleven off the belt, as well as occasionally filling in at centre half; makes you wonder, especially when you remember his later performances for us. Nice lad though, be good to see him back at Meadow Park in a few weeks, I always said he would do well...
Our new signings look the part mind, the little lad up front is a proper player, and him and Sparky seem to be combining well, and the winger gets it in, which, as the actress is reputed to have said to the bishop, always helps, and the German lad has got an engine on him, up and down, up and down, up and down; are we back to the bishop again?
Anyway, onwards and upwards, the best three months of the season still to come, every game a cup final, twists and turns wherever you look, how will it end? We can only watch and hope, watch and hope...
