RCA's forward and coach, Colin Larkin, assess progress ahead of the home league match against Whitley Bay.
We are now into October and are sitting in a decent position in the League. However I can’t help but feel we have missed a major opportunity in the last two games to go top and send out a real statement to the rest of the Division. Last week can only be described as frustrating! After a disappointing result and performance against RCW I was hoping we would bounce back against Shildon. I could talk about the two bad decisions by the officials that cost us the game, however we just weren’t ruthless enough in front of goal and against top sides like Shildon, you need to take your chances if you are going to get anything from the game.
I want to welcome tonight’s opponents, Whitley Bay, who will admit their season hasn’t quite started yet. Out of the FA Cup and the FA Vase, they will now be focussed on winning their games in hand to push right back up the League. We however, have to make sure we nullify our own mistakes in possession and when the chances come, we have to be really ruthless and take them.
Enjoy the game everyone!
