Well, well, well. What a change. A good game on Tuesday night, or at least it looked it from the restricted view area. And a decent crowd in, including a lot of recognisable faces from around the league. Keen to get a look at what the new boys in charge are up to, and I guess they must have been reasonably impressed. A very decent performance, and probably unlucky not to take all three points against the league leaders. But a draw keeps this little run going, can we do the same or better on Saturday and move off the bottom? Be a big boost, so fingers crossed. Yes, all seems sunshine and light here on the meadows of Ryhope, will it last? Let us hope so...

But we musn't be parochial must we? The national side carry the flag for us all this weekend. I am assuming at this point that we have managed to squeeze past San Marino, while the daunting figures of Estonia's finest are still to come. But at least the camp is united. So it's full steam ahead while we bulldoze the minnows of Europe on the way to glorious failure in France in 2016. Mind, nice place for a tournament. Was I not trapped in this particular resting place, I reckon I might be planning a few weeks somewhere down South, watching a few games and soaking up the sun. I would vote for Nice, which is nice, has a brand new stadium, good camping round and about, and will host four games over 15 days. Or possibly Marseille, which has six games, including a semi final, and unrivalled access to narcotics, if you are that way inclined, which I am sure you are not. You just have to hope England don't get drawn down there...
