Sunderland RCA entertained Ryton and Crawcrook Albion in their first home friendly of the season.
The hosts got off to a flying start when Johnson converted a poor defensive clearance from inside the six yard area to give them a 4th minute lead.
Both teams had chances to score, Hennis shot wide after ex RCA keeper Jonnie Ball fumbled the ball and Winn shot wide after some good work down the right by Johnson and Charmey.
Marrs produced a good save at the other end blocking a shot by Ryton's Centre forward who minutes later blasted the ball over the bar from the edge of the box.
Jakab thought he had scored in the dying minutes of the half when he headed home from close range but it was ruled out for a foul on the keeper.
RCA doubled their lead in the 50 minute when Johnson headed home a right wing cross.
Marrs was again called into action making a very good save diving to his left .
With both teams making changes to their lineups the game became very disjointed, a typical pre-season match with little in the way of goalmouth action.
