Two friendlies took place this week.

On Thursday we entertained Durham City at the Downhill complex.

It was a decent match against a very well organised Durham team.

A good goal by Mark Davison in the opening 10 minutes drilling in a low shot past the Durham keeper.

The game flowed from end to end with both teams playing some good football. As per usual anumber of changes from both teamns at half time.

The introduction of Colin Larkin for his first run out in a red and white shirt for over a season was a bonus.

Callen made one of his characteristic runs across the 18 yard box before smashing the ball intop the net and with time running out the evergreen Mr Larkin fittingly ended the night with a well taken goal in the 88th minute.

All in all agood work out against a technically good side. Durham could be second division contenders.

On Saturday it was a trip to Esh Winning.

With Max Allen (inj), Greg Swansbury (inj) and Robbie Dean (wedding) unavailable it was an opportunity for others to impress.

RCA , after a positive start were rocked on the their heels when Esh were handed an early goal after a mix up at teh back.

Callum Hope restored parity with a well taken goal only for Esh to score a minute later to restore their lead.

A Dylan Elliott penalty on the half hour saw the teams level again in a very entertaining match.

The final word on the half went to Esh Winning with a stunning 30 yard shot which flew past Frampton and into the top corner of the net.

RCA came out for the second half and with the advantage of the slope started to dominate.

Callen equalised with a shot into the bottom corner of the goal before Esh, with a rare foray into the RCA half were awarded a penalty which was converted to give them the lead again.

Another flurry of Substitution took place and RCA piled the pressure on and eventually managed to equalise again through trialist Fairley.

the final twist in the tail was a low driven shot by Fairley which struck the inside of the post before nestling in the back of the net to give RCA the lead for the first time in the match.

An entertaining pre-season that basically had everything but Specators.
