Sunderland Sunday League
RCA Grangetown Florists finally got back to league business with their first game since mid October with a very comfortable 2-0 victory over a spirited Ryhope CW.
RCA Florists got off to the perfect start when Gareth Hill was played into space on the right and drove home across the keeper after just five minutes, but then RCA Florists chose to waste numerous chances to increase the lead up to half time, despite dominating play. Indeed they nearly allowed Ryhope back into the game just on half time when keeper Snowball picked up a back pass and Benson hit the post with the subsequent free kick and the rebound was driven wide. So 1-0 to RCA Florists at half time.
The second half produced another dominant display from RCA Florists, but again woefull finishing and poor pass selection meant they had to wait till two minutes from time to make the game safe when David Rush curled a fine effort past the Ryhope keeper to give a final score of 2-0 to RCA Florists.
