A John Butler hat trick inside 50 minutes blitzed Thornaby, as RCA continued their good recent form. It could have been worse for the home side, as a solid defensive display provided a platform for Butler and fellow strike partner Dean Fox to cause havoc with strong running and excellent hold up play.

As RCA cruised through the final minutes, two penalty decisions in the last three minutes gave the score line a false gloss, with Thornaby back in the contest, if only for a short while.

A good win, further progress up the table and games coming thick and fast - bring it on!

It was a very disappointing day at Esh Winning on Saturday. After the great midweek win at Thornaby expectations of another good result were high as we tackled bottom of the table rivals Esh. But it was not to be as injuries and absences deprived us of players and a heavy pitch took its toll.

Esh are much improved as well and deservedly won out in an always interesting and tight game with a single goal on the hour, ironically just after RCA had their best spell of the game. 11 league games to go and after this setback we need to focus again on pushing as far up the table as possible.
