League title and promotion is the aim. Cups only a distraction. Big games coming up, and as you said NH prob didnt give a rats hoot about this cup.

any body cum out with any credit? It was actually quite a good game to watch, and up untill their 3rd goal we still might have pulled it back. RCA had plenty of good chances in the first half, combination of poor finishing, good keeping and a ball kicked off the line meant we weren't level or even in front by the break. So it goes.
Matt Noble had a very good game I thought, ditto Shields, Jones, Henderson, McBryde.
Coghlan had a poor one, and several misplaced passes from him caused us problems. But next game he'll probably be the opposite...mercurial, I think they call it.
shud have let regulars in for nowt Probably cant - league rules set a minimum admission fee and this is a league competition.

A number of points to clear up.
1. This is a league competition and RCA have no say whether to enter it or not.
2. Admission is set by the league and proceeds of the competition are divided equally by the two clubs.
3. As has already been mentioned in a previous post the players on show were all first team players but on the night they were not good enough to beat a very well organised team
4. Most if not all the changes were forced : 3 Players cup tied, 2 working, one in hospital and one turned up injured.
The game itself was end to end and only a number of good saves from North Shields keeper stopped RCA from at least being level at Half time. However North Shield took their chances in the second half and we didn't, such is football.
Anybody got any news on Paul Taylor who was poorly after the match.

Correct mate, the success of whats happening at both Ryhope clubs is excellent for the City of Sunderland and this has not been seen for donkeys years.

With regular first teamers due to be back in the side on sat, then i'm sure you and everyone will see a vast improvement!!
It aint gonna be easy as Stokesley are on a right run of form and pose a massive threat in AJ, although i'm sure Daryll Hall will do a good job on him.
3 points are vital although a draw wouldnt be the end of the world. I still think we will go up and to go up as champions, then we need to win games like these.
There are many testing times ahead.
Hope Tayls is ok, when he's on it he is unplayable - a defenders worst nightmare.

Dont think you were watching the same game as me Devilles advocate if you thought any of the back four done well....probly why there was players getting switched about at the back all game. Especially Noble and henderson, made shields forwards look like world beaters. Also didnt make any attempt to mark there big CB from set pieces.
Sparky and Coghlan may as well have stayed in the house aswell.
Must agree thought shieldsy had a decent game though and gud to see him playing again, you could see mcbride was tryin aswell.
